Motivational Interviewing

Motivational Interviewing (MI) is a person-centered approach to helping others. This approach to talk therapy emphasizes the person’s autonomy and inner strengths. Therapists using MI aim to hold space for others to support them in developing and sustaining authentic inner motivation. This collaborative approach to therapy has been proven to help others with a variety of goals and issues including:

  • Depression, anxiety and other severe mental health issues

  • Health and wellness goals such as exercise and nutrition

  • Substance use including drugs and alcohol

  • Making healthy choices for oneself

Mindful Self-Compassion

Mindful Self-Compassion (MSC) is a mindfulness based approach to fostering and accepting self compassion. This approach to self compassion relies on the three principles of Mindfulness, Self Kindness, and Common Humanity. The practice of MSC can include guided meditations, self reflection exercises, and activities to incorporate into one’s daily life post therapy. MSC has been shown to help with many health and wellness issues including:

  • Shame and low self worth

  • Depression, anxiety, and stress

  • Life satisfaction and meaning

Brainspotting

Brainspotting is a treatment approach that incorporates mindfulness and physiological elements to support others resolve stress, trauma, anxiety and other challenging experiences. Therapists using this approach use compassion and “dual attunement” to help provide a safe space for the individual to explore difficult aspects of the mind such emotions and memories. Clients can expect to see a change in their symptoms in as little as one BSP session. Brainspotting can be used to help with:

  • Various types of traumas

  • Anxiety, stress, and depression

  • Substance Use
