Jesse Jonesberg (Berg), MSW, LCSW, MINT Member
Trainer and Consultant - Intrinsic Change, LLC

Picture

Jesse is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Certified Diversity FaciliTrainer (CDFT),  and member of the Motivational Interviewing Network of Trainers (MINT). His interest in Motivational Interviewing (MI) came through experiences working with individuals with severe and persistent mental illnesses. Jesse found that the compassionate, strengths-based, and client-centered approach offed by MI was above and beyond the most effective method to help his clients develop positive lasting changes in their lives. Jesse incorporates elements of mindfulness, cultural humility and compassion into his practice and teaching of MI. To view a one-page description of Jesse's MI training experience click here. "I loved the energy... [he has] a lot of knowledge and passion
and is great at sharing those."
                                 - 2015 MI Workshop Participant
Motivational Interviewing and MINT Experience
Jesse was first introduced to MI during his studies in graduate school, and many components of MI seemed to be a natural fit with his clinical approach and strong belief in the efficacy of compassion and client autonomy. His knowledge and proficiency excelled after he began using MI with clients who had severe and persistent mental illnesses, and he saw the dramatic impact the MI skills had on clients' self efficacy and overall recovery rates. Jesse then began researching MI on his own and seeking out trainings from others. He has attended (and continues to attend) many MINT 2-day MI trainings across the country where he develops and hones his MI skill set. Jesse completed his MINT Training in October of 2015 and is now a proud and active member of the MINT network. In 2016, Jesse was selected to present at the MINT International Forum in Montreal, Canada on incorporating mindfulness into MI trainings. Currently Jesse serves on the MINT Website Committee and is an active member of the MINT Inclusion & Diversity Group. View his MINT profile here.
